The Next Business Generation Programme is a pilot programme designed to create more, better quality startups in Nottingham across the city’s three key sectors of clean tech, digital and life sciences. The programme is funded by Nottingham City Council and the department of Business, Industry and Skills.
Accelerator programmes based on successful examples such as Y-Combinator and Techstars are fast spreading across the globe but the support they offer is often limited to the digital sector and to ideas that are well formed with teams around them for a period of a few weeks before pitching for money.
Nottingham : Next Business Generation aims to interact with ideas across multiple sectors, at a much earlier stage in their formation and to provide them with a graduated source of support within a flexible time frame.
BioCity Nottingham is the lead delivery organisation for the programme. The strategic partners are Nottingham Clean Tech Centre and Antenna.
